1. Who we are

Hot Butter Labs LLC ("Hot Butter", "we", "us") is based in Albany, New York, and operates hotbutter.io and the tools offered there. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, and what you can do about it.

2. Information we collect

• Information you give us. Your name, email address, company name, and the contents of any message you send through our contact form or by email.
• Account and service data. If you use one of our products, the credentials, connections, and business data you authorize us to access in order to deliver that service.
• Usage data. Standard server and analytics data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and timestamps.

We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18, and we do not collect special categories of personal data.

3. How we use it

• To reply to you and provide the services you have asked for.
• To operate, secure, debug, and improve our products.
• To send service-related messages. We only send marketing email if you have opted in, and every such email has an unsubscribe link.
• To meet legal, tax, and accounting obligations.

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own advertising.

4. Service providers

We rely on a small number of vendors who process data on our behalf under contract, including our hosting and edge network provider (Cloudflare), our transactional email provider (Resend), and standard business tools for email and accounting. They may only use the data to provide services to us.

5. Retention

We keep contact-form messages and correspondence for as long as needed to handle your request and to keep a record of our dealings with you, and service data for the life of your account plus any period required by law. When data is no longer needed, we delete it or anonymize it.

6. Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to access, correct, export, or delete your personal information, to object to or restrict certain processing, and to withdraw consent. Email us and we will action verified requests within the period required by applicable law. You will not be discriminated against for exercising these rights.

7. Security

We use encryption in transit, access controls, and least-privilege practices to protect your data. No system is perfectly secure, but we will notify you and any required regulator of a breach affecting your personal information as the law requires.

8. International transfers

We are based in the United States and our providers may process data in the United States and other countries. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the EU Standard Contractual Clauses.

9. Cookies

Our marketing site uses only what is needed to serve and secure the page. If we add analytics or preference cookies, we will describe them here and, where required, ask for your consent first.
